November Product Update

Some big changes to report on this month! Our engineers have been hard at work and shipped some huge new features πŸ™Œ

Managed AccessπŸ”’

The first of these big new features is the concept of Managed Access. For the first time in Ploy, you can now apply temporary access controls to a resource in its entirety. This means that for a given resource:

  • every identity can automatically have temporary access controls applied
  • this is true irrespective of whether their access has been granted through Ploy or not
  • this can be retroactively applied to identities with existing access, and it can be configured in bulk

Once access is configured for a resource, it will then appear in your Managed Access page.

The best part of all of this? You can manage access to a resource in as little as 5 clicks - and bulk manage resources in as little as 6!

Access GraphπŸ•΅οΈ

Our second big new feature this month is the introduction of an Access Graph. This provides an all-new way for you to visualise access and better understand your high-risk attack paths. Some ways our early-adopters have been using this are:

  • Discovering & severing anomalous access to Google/Microsoft Groups
  • Visualising every identity that has access to a production database
  • Visualising attack paths for resources tagged as 'sensitive'

We've also embedded the Access Graph into the Resources page so that upon clicking into a Resource, you'll be able to easily visualise who has access.

Note: The Access Graph is still in Beta so please reach out to a member of the team if you want early-access.

Navigation

Because of these new features, we've also re-designed the platform layout:

  • Access Hub: This is where all our access management features are now housed, and where we think you'll spend most of your time!
  • Inventory: This is where you'll be able to see the full list of Resources, Apps, Employees or Identities.
  • Automate: This new section is where you can find Flows, Tasks & Surveys.
  • Settings: Finally, we've added a Settings section at the bottom and included the Integrations page there.

Spreadsheet UI

You'll now notice many of our pages have a more spreadsheet-like UI. This should hopefully improve the user experience by allowing you to:

  • edit rows directly from the page
  • add tags to resources
  • visualise more rows per page
  • view the page totals

Quick wins πŸ“œ

On top of the big stuff, we also released some smaller features (yes, there's less of these than usual, but we'll be making up for it in December!):

  • Access reviews: Streamlined the page to make it more intuitive
  • Catalogs: Added a back button when creating a new Access Catalog
  • Offboarding Flow: Added the ability to create an offboarding from a manual trigger
  • Fixed a bunch of typos and other niggling issues throughout the platform
